ABOUT
Aly (she/her) offers strengths-based, non-coercive therapy where folks can celebrate their capabilities, explore coping and healing strategies, and feel empowered to meet their goals.
Aly is a Licensed Clinical Social Work Associate (LCSWA) who works with folks to address concerns including those related to neurodivergence, complex trauma, substance use, depression and self harm.
Aly is proudly LGBTQIA-affirming, neurodivergence-affirming, and fat-positive. She works to promote social justice within and outside of the therapy room and recognizes how systems of oppression are closely linked with our mental health.
Aly works with clients to identify interventions and strategies that feel right for them. Her work is informed by motivational interviewing; harm reduction; somatic processing and polyvagal theory; empowerment theory; coherence therapy; Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT); and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT). She is Phase 1 trained in brainspotting.
Aly received her Bachelor of Social Work from UNC-Greensboro and her Master of Social Work from the University of Denver. She has previous experience working in outpatient therapy, Intensive Outpatient Programs, and syringe service programs.
Outside of work, Aly enjoys spending time with her wife and pets, reading mystery novels, and playing video games.
